The Rev Racerz by Colorific have been a huge hit in the house! The kids build their own loop de loop tracks and race each other with these mini micro motorbikes that you pump up and shoot out onto the track… Super fast and fun!

And for the chicks!!! I am popping these Bitzy Blitz and Dream Stones in Sages bday stash….she can make her own necklaces and bag tags (which light up)! Such a good gift for the little miss bling lovers and crafters! And a great wet weather activity!!

Check out Colorific for more kids toys and craft!  X b

A night in the garden

Twinkling lights, pigs in wings, unicorn sprinkled drinks, tap dancers, pork sliders, charred corn cobs with lime and coriander, mulled wine, brass brands, Accapella, overflowing plants and that’s just the beginning!

I was lucky enough to be invited to a garden evening at The Grounds with a friend..celebrating 4 years and a look at the new additions to this amazing old parking lot in Alexandria.

The atmosphere was amazing, the coconut and lime daquairis to die for and the smell of gourmet pizzas, smokey lamb and cinnamon was delicious!

We wandered the fairy light sprinkled gardens, were entertained by the coolest brass band, tap dancing, accapella, and chatted amongs hay bails and warm fires whilst sipping on cocktails from the beautifully designed Soda bar.

We left with hot chocolates (simmering in a copper pot) topped with cream, toasted marshmallows and a toffee shard.

It was like something out of Alice in Wonderland! I don’t think this will ever be topped!

Thanks so much The Grounds!!! X b

Have passport, will travel!!

nailing mr serious for his passport pic

I’m starting to get excited (and organized) as August is approaching and we are headed to NZ for my sisters 40th!!

Aswell as researching the best cafes and things to do, I need to get on top of the kids passports and other important stuff!

With that in mind, I’m taking advantage of the May/June offer currently running at Australia Post outlets. By simply mentioning ‘child20’ to a retail staff member at your local Post Office you will receive a 20% discount on your ID photos through May and June.

The kids and I recently took advantage of this offer and I was pleasantly surprised with how smoothly the process went! What was particularly pleasing to me was how quickly and efficiently the pics were taken (within Government regulation) and also ready in minutes!  (Kingston had the Post office staff laughing with his “trying to be serious” face)  A good option also is to take a digital copy  for any additional online applications that may pop up in organizing travel.

So now I can get back to sourcing the best Coffee in Queenstown! (Please send your tips my way)!! Looking forward to sharing some holiday snaps, and hope this info has helped some of you planning trips overseas with the kiddies!

Happy travels! X b
